APPEAL To members of the Chamber of Auditors of the Republic of Azerbaijan

Dear colleagues!
I am addressing you in a situation of uncertainty in the world economy, as well as where all sectors of the economy and entrepreneurship are facing global, unexpected and sudden challenges due to the pandemic.
It must be acknowledged with regret that, the current situation does not go unnoticed for our profession - an independent audit, which is indispensable in ensuring transparency in the economy, efficient use of economic resources and economic security.
This is also due to the difficult situation faced by businesses that are customers of our service.
I would also like to point out that even in the most developed countries of the world, there are practical difficulties in preparing and auditing of companies' financial statements. This is primarily due to problems with auditors' meetings with clients, acquaintance of the documents of the audited economic entities in places and difficulties in implementing other necessary procedures for the audit.
All this is a serious concern for our professionals not only in our country, but also in the most developed countries.
Dear friends!
The new era requires each of us not to be discouraged, to believe that all difficulties will come and go, and that panic and anxiety will be unfounded, that our economy will be stronger in the future, to serve the highest goals of our profession honestly and honorably.
I am sure that you are of the same opinion for the future development of our independent Azerbaijan.
This confidence in me comes from knowing you personally and comes from the fact that I know that you are a highly patriotic and competent professional who loves profession.
The most important thing is that the President of our country, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, has took timely and effective measures to resolve the difficult situation we are in, to  protect ountry's economy from the crisis, and for the health of each of us, our relatives and every Azerbaijani citizen; all government agencies and non-governmental organizations, including the Cabinet of Ministers, were mobilized and bold steps were taken to set an example for other countries. I can say with full confidence that, the instructions and recommendations of the President, the good wishes and prayers of the First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva to our people will soon show the real results of the establishment of a new civil solidarity, smooth economic development and organizational and moral basis of our happy future.

Dear friends!
The challenges of the new era require the application of advanced and innovative methods in our work, the use of new procedures, the compliance of audits with the requirements of International Auditing Standards and other regulations, and most importantly, improving the quality of audit services and the image of our profession. For this purpose, on April 8, 2020, I signed Order No. 1/11 "On the solution of the tasks facing the audit service in a pandemic."
The purpose of the order is to identify the problems facing independent audit in the country in modern conditions, to develop recommendations in accordance with the challenges of the new era for the prompt and effective solution of these problems, to provide practical assistance to members of the Chamber of Auditors, to study and resolve proposals and recommendations received from members of the Chamber, if necessary, to raise cases before the relevant central executive authorities, to ensure the application of advanced foreign experience in the audit of Azerbaijan during the pandemic. In accordance with the order, a Working Staff was established in the Chamber of Auditors. I ask you to establish remote contacts with that Staff and present your proposals and recommendations as soon as possible, which you consider important for our profession.
I call on each of you to unite closely around the President of our country, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the implementation of economic policy successfully implemented in our country, which we will soon witness positive results! Let's not forget that we are strong together!
May the Almighty God be with each of you!
