The Chamber of Auditors of the Republic of Azerbaijan has started conducting a series of seminars for auditors on the topic “INTERNATIONAL CODE OF ETHICS FOR PROFESSIONAL ACCOUNTANTS”

     

In order to support the economic reforms successfully implemented in the country, enhance transparency and ensure a high level of accountability, apply best practices in preventing tax evasion, and provide methodological support to entrepreneurs, businesspeople, enterprises and organizations in this area, the Chamber of Auditors of the Republic of Azerbaijan held the first seminar for auditors on February 19, 2020, on the topic “INTERNATIONAL CODE OF ETHICS FOR PROFESSIONAL ACCOUNTANTS”, focusing on the application of the fundamental principles of professional ethics and standards of conduct.
 

The seminar was opened with welcoming remarks by Ibish Aliyev, Chairman of the Commission on Ethics, Disputes and Discipline and Independent Auditor, and Namig Abbasli, Chairman of the Committee on International Standards on Auditing and International Financial Reporting Standards and Director of “ANR Audit” LLC. They welcomed the seminar participants, spoke about the significance of the seminar and presented their recommendations. Subsequently, Najaf Talibov, Chairman of the Committee on Science and Methodological Support for Auditing Activities and Director of “TNM Audit” LLC, delivered detailed presentations on the topics “Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants and Amendments to the Content of the 2016 Edition of the Code” and “International Independence Standards”, sharing his views with the participants.
 

At the end of the seminar, the participants’ questions were answered and an extensive discussion was held.
 

The seminars are being held in stages.
 

The next seminars will be held on February 25, February 28 and March 2, 2020, at 10:00.
