On 21 July 2026, a meeting dedicated to the results of the first half of the current year was held at the Chamber of Auditors.
During the discussion, information was presented on the work carried out by the Chamber of Auditors in line with the digital transformation policy defined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, aimed at expanding the use of information technologies and innovative artificial intelligence-based solutions in auditing, digitalizing audit services, further increasing the efficiency, effectiveness and transparency of the regulation of independent audit activities, as well as on the development of a new version of the “Auditor’s Personal Cabinet” information system. The new functional capabilities of this system will enable more efficient, flexible and modern electronic interaction with auditors.
The meeting discussed the status of implementation of the activities envisaged in the Chamber’s activity plan for the first half of 2026, the results achieved and the areas of activity for the upcoming period.
It was noted that during the reporting period, a comprehensive set of measures was implemented to improve the quality of audit activities, increase transparency in the audit services market, enhance professional training, develop certification programs and improve quality control mechanisms. Regular monitoring and assessments were conducted in relation to contracts concluded by auditors and audit opinions issued by them, as well as in the audit services market, with the aim of identifying cases of activities that do not comply with legislative requirements. In addition, surveys were conducted to assess the quality of audit services.
During the first half of the current year, 4 meetings of the Council of the Chamber of Auditors were held, at which 30 issues were discussed and relevant decisions were adopted concerning the expansion of audit services, improvement of the audit management system, implementation of digital solutions and development of electronic services, professional ethics and application of international standards, approval of methodological documents and various rules, improvement of the regulatory framework in the field of combating the legalization of property obtained through criminal means and the financing of terrorism, as well as improvement of the activities of committees.
It was noted that 2026 marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Chamber of Auditors. In this regard, extensive preparatory work is underway on such projects as the preparation of the book “Chamber of Auditors — 30 Years,” the production of a documentary film dedicated to the activities of the Chamber, individual journalistic publications, professional competitions among young auditors and auditor assistants, an international scientific and practical conference to be held in September, anniversary publications and other projects. Most of these projects are scheduled to be presented to the public in the near future.
The meeting highlighted that the main priorities of the Chamber of Auditors in the second half of 2026 will be the full implementation of electronic services, the launch of new certification programs, further expansion of the methodological framework, expansion of international cooperation, and the successful completion of projects planned as part of the 30th anniversary of the Chamber of Auditors, including the signing of the Charter of the Union of Accountants and Independent Auditors of the Turkic States.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the relevant structural divisions of the Chamber of Auditors were instructed to ensure the timely and high-quality implementation of the tasks set for the second half of 2026.
